Yesterday, I just watched the musical Mamma Mia. I thought it was quite funny and cute but it was too girly for me. The movie is a 2008 stage-to-film adaptation of the 1999 musical, based on the songs of successful pop group ABBA. I read the the film did very well at the box office becoming the most successful Hollywood film musical of all time and the highest grossing film of all time in the United Kingdoms. Meryl Streep heads the cast of the film, playing the role of single mother Donna Sheridan. Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth , and Stellan Sakarsgard play the three possible fathers to Donna's daughter Sophie.
Movie Summary: Longing to discover the identity of her true father before she exchanges her wedding vows, the daughter of a once-rebellious single mother secretly invites a trio of paternal candidates to her upcoming wedding in this feature adaptation of the beloved stage musical. Independent-minded single mother Donna has always done her best to raise her spirited daughter, Sophie, while simultaneously running a successful hotel on a small Greek island, but now the time has come for this hardworking mom to finally let go. In just a few days, Sophie will be married, and Donna will stand by bittersweetly as her little girl takes flight. Of course, Donna's lifelong friends Rosie and Tanya will both be present at the wedding, but unbeknownst to the mother, Sophie has furtively invited three very special guests of her own. When Sophie walks down the aisle on that fateful day, she wants her father to hand her off. The only problem is that Donna has never revealed the true identity of Sophie's father, leaving the resourceful future bride to narrow the list down to three potential candidates. Now, as three key figures from Donna's past return to the picturesque Mediterranean shores they all walked 20 years prior, one beautiful bride will discover the secret of her past while one lonely mother finds out that it's never too late for a little romance.Blogged it at 12:37 AM

It's Chinese New Year's Eve but can you feel something is wrong. The atmosphere all over Singapore is not as buoyant as last year or the year before. It all leads down to the recession. Many say that they are tapping into their reserves to make their reunion dinner more lavish and memorable. They also say is painful but it is part of their families tradition to spend during festive celebrations. Shop owners are very concerned as their customers will be less willing to spend. Unfortunately, I read somewhere that this year is the year of the ox yellow colour. This means that we have to work harder to achieve what we want.
The recession might not impact my directly but i have to learnt to spend ,whatever money i have, wisely. Being thrifty is not the only thing, I also stopped pestering my parents to buy me items. Now i realised how difficult it is to earn money.
It may not be a great Chinese New Year but it can still be a good one.
Happy CNY to all!!Blogged it at 11:45 PM

Barack Obama is the 44th US president. He is the first African-American president in US history. will close the curtains on the George Bush era, the weeks of excited anticipation will finally come to an end.
I am proud for the Americans in general. I hope Obama is the medicine that America needs. He is their Abraham Lincoln. His slogan " Yes we can change" has been the most effective tool in the campaign. He has the quality and diplomacy to win the hearts of the hearts and minds of the Americans as well as the world population. Personally I feel that Obama's win means a more pen-minded and tolerant society that holds more opportunities for people globally.
The current global financial meltdown and its military presence around the Gulf has presented many new challenges for the new president. These are very real issues he has to grapple with even before he takes office in a few months time. By soaking up the challenges now, the world can see Mr Obama is serious about shouldering the burden of its nation to make life a little better for his countrymen in the coming months no matter how untried and untested he is at such a big stage.
In the midst of this economic crisis of recession, Obama is our beacon of hope and optimism, who we fervently believe can restore the global economy and improve all our lives for the better.
Cheers to Obama's win!

Hi again,
Just a few days ago, i made my first few steps into my new house. My parents have been working on this house for two years already but now what was always on paper is now a reality. The house, which is semi-detached(aka semi-D), is 3 stories high excluding a roof garden on the top floor. The colour of the house is mostly yellowish-white and it is very spacious inside.
Moving from our previous house was a huge challenge. Hours was spent packing boxes and wrapping fragile items with newspaper.I have to admit it was a tiring job. Just when we thought all the exhausting things were finished, we found out that climbing up and down the stairs was no joke. I really pitied the movers who had to carry the boxes up for us(climbing up with nothing in your hands can still be torturous).
After all the moving had finished, the unpacking started. Cardboard boxes could be seen strewn all over our front area. The air was polluted with dust and the ground littered with dirt. The funny thing is many of our personal belongings could not be found because we forgot which box we had packed them in.
This sure was a hectic day for me and my family.

Hi all,
Most of my time is spent on my CCA and projects so squeezing in time for blogging has been really tough. Still, I think i can manage blogging every few days.
School's dull and monotonous schedule always leaves me drained at the end of day. Furthermore, I have to attend my arduous CCA trainings five times a week and only arrive home at six. Unfortunately, blogging is one of my projects. English has never been my strength - these few lines took me half and hour to write.
I am currently studying seven subjects - elementary maths and science being my favourites. Literature, we're studying Macbeth by Shakespeare, is very complex and I had a lot of difficulty understanding the text. English lessons which is taught by Mr. Daniel Tan - he is grading this blog - can be quite captivating at times when reading a composition as he is very expressive in his words. However, I never enjoyed writing essays myself. I always approach Mother Tongue classes with dread. As you can guess, it is my worst subject apart from Home Economics and Art which I don't really care about. Not only am I forced to learn it, it is as foreign to me as Macbeth. In the end, it is for our own good learning a second language.
Another day of drudgery is ending at last. I can't wait for the weekend to come.Blogged it at 4:42 AM
